CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment will spend 11 to 15 years in prison following the death of a 16-year-old autistic boy.

Prosecutors dropped the murder charge against William Turnage, 56, after he agreed to testify against the teen’s mother next month.

This is a case that has struck a nerve with Common Pleas Court Judge Jody Leubbers.

While hearing the facts of the case once again from the prosecutor, the judge did not hold back on her expressions or words to Turnage.

Jeremiah Moore, who also went by Jay Jay, died on Feb. 6, 2024, in the basement of his family’s home in Springfield Township.

The prosecutor showed the judge photos of the teen, clarifying that they do not show him sleeping.
