ST. LOUIS — A north St. Louis man has been charged in connection with a June shooting that left one dead and two injured.

Darnell D. Westmoreland, 28, of the 4300 block of Strodtman Place, was identified as one of the two men involved with a fatal shooting on June 8 at the Elite Supermarket in the 8300 block of North Broadway in the Baden neighborhood.

Police say that surveillance videos show Westmoreland and a man who was later identified as Tavon L. Jackson of St. Louis approaching a vehicle in the parking lot that day.

Jackson fires shots into the vehicle, which had two occupants plus an 8-year-old girl. He then drags Michael Maxon, 22, of Castle Point, out of the car before fatally shooting him.
