Warren County fire and rescue crews responded to a report of a train car on fire in the 400 block of Kendrick Lane just before 10 a.m. Monday.

Crews arrived to find a Norfolk Southern intermodal container that was hauling household trash on fire, according to a Warren County Department of Fire and Rescue Services news release. The cars were disconnected from the remainder of the train system. Norfolk Southern’s safety and environmental teams also arrived on the scene ensuring all protocols are followed and the area is safe.

Warren County Assistant Fire Chief Gerry Maiatico said Monday afternoon that the fire was extinguished and that Norfolk Southern took over the scene from there.
