ZAVALLA, Texas (KLTV) - The use of a new, permanent water pump is postponed Monday as crews search for a suspected leak in the system.

City residents currently have access to water from the use of a temporary pump, but Tyler Morrison, the city’s public works director, said it’s not working as powerfully as the new one is expected to.

Because of this, the water pressure remains low. All residents are currently under a boil water notice and asked to conserve water.

Morrison said a new, permanent pump is hooked up but cannot be turned on until a suspected leak is found and fixed.

The city said water can be picked up Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Solid Rock Baptist Church, located at 16663 Highway 2109.

One case is allotted for each household every three days.
