SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - It’s officially game week, as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are gearing up for their season opener this coming Sunday at Miami.

The Irish are no strangers to Hard Rock Stadium. They were there on Jan. 9 when they knocked off Penn State in the College Football Playoff semifinals .

Now, they return to that same field, but the stakes are different. This time, it’s a top 10 showdown against a Miami team entering a new chapter with transfer quarterback Carson Beck.

And for the Irish? Well, it’ll be a whole new atmosphere for redshirt freshman quarterback CJ Carr, who earned the starting job over Kenny Minchey.
