BROOKLYN — Zohran Mamdani raised over $1 million between July 12 and Aug. 18, far outpacing competitors Andrew Cuomo ($541K) and Mayor Eric Adams ($425K), city campaign filings show.

Mamdani’s grassroots effort drew small donors, with contributions averaging $121, while Cuomo and Adams leaned on larger donations. Polls from Siena and DDHQ now place Mamdani ahead of the field by double digits, according to The Hill .

The Democratic nominee’s platform includes democratic socialist policies like rent freezes, city-run grocery stores and free childcare designed to hold working-class appeal, as well as to appeal to Mamdani’s progressive base.

The fundraising surge cements Mamdani as the race’s frontrunner.
