CHARLOTTESVILLE — Since arriving at Virginia in January, safety Devin Neal has gained quick comfort because of his meticulousness.

The Louisville transfer wants to make the most of his sixth and final season in college football, and no detail is too small in his pursuit.

“He’s super intentional with how he prepares,” Cavaliers defensive coordinator John Rudzinski said.

Neal said he has studied Rudzinski’s scheme throughout the offseason in order to be ready for the important responsibility the Cavaliers are expecting him to manage beginning Saturday when they host Coastal Carolina in the season-opening clash at Scott Stadium.
