Surveillance Footage Shows Suspect Accelerated Toward Victim After Arguing with His Mother

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Brooksville man is facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly intentionally struck a 74-year-old man with a car following an argument with his mother. The victim, who was sitting in a chair at the time of the incident, was airlifted to a trauma hospital with severe injuries.

On August 24, at approximately 10:42 a.m., the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a man had been hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Josephine Street. The caller also reported that the driver had fled into a wooded area nearby.
