RIO RANCHO, N.M. —

Video from a viewer captured a black bear crossing a dirt road in Rio Rancho. Interactive with the video player above to track its path.

The bear was seen near Chessman Drive NE. The viewer said it happened sometime Monday, Aug. 25.

KOAT reached out the New Mexico Game and Fish to see if there has been any recent response related to the bear. It said the bear was tracked to a backyard and was darted by conservation officers.

Game and Fish said the bear climbed a tree after encountering the homeowner's dog. The bear will be relocated to northern New Mexico.
