BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Over the weekend, WKU football opened its season with a 41-24 victory over Sam Houston led by quarterback Maverick McIvor, who in his Hilltopper debut passed for over 400 yards and scored 4 total touchdowns.

McIvor’s efforts in Week Zero were awarded with a pair of honors, being the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week and the East-West Shrine Bowl’s Monday Morning Quarterback.

McIvor’s offensive coordinator Rick Bowie was pleased with his performance, but he shared Monday morning that it’s only up from here, with more hard work to go as the next week approaches.
