(CNN)– Losing “De Minimis” could cause maximum problems for companies and online sellers like Amazon Haul, Etsy and Shopify.

It’s about the exemption for small packages.

The “De Minimis” exemption allows goods that are worth $800 or less to come into the U.S. duty free.

Some e-commerce giants have used it as a loophole to get around the Trump administration’s sweeping trade policies.

Now, that exemption is set to expire on Friday.

Ahead of it, some international postal services have already started to suspend shipments to the U.S.
