SCHENECTADY — Schenectady Councilman Joseph Mancini has vacated his seat with more than two years remaining on his term.

In a resignation sent to Mayor Gary McCarthy and the council on Monday, Mancini announced that he was retiring to a newly purchased home in Florida and would leave the council effective Sept. 12.
