“So, my sweet nephew (17) is new to driving. He has minimal support needs, but sometimes has difficulty with sensory input and social expectations. He recently was pulled over for an out taillight. The officer said “Sir, did you know your tail light was out?” My nephew, confused by this question said, ‘Well, no I can’t see behind me.’ Which, lol, but also incredibly fair! If he knew his light was out, 1. he would have fixed it 2. he would have been looking behind the car while it was on, and Lord knows none of us (OK very few of us) check our tail lights every time we drive.
