WINTHROP, Maine (WABI) - A man is dead and three others were seriously hurt after a crash on Route 202 in Winthrop Saturday.

Winthrop Police say 21-year-old John Stratton of Sidney was seen by an officer driving a car 123 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.

They say the officer turned to go after the vehicle but never caught up.

They say the officer eventually came upon a crash where Stratton’s car ended up hitting a truck driven by 76-year-old Steven Greene of Massachusetts.

Officials say Greene was making a left turn when his truck was hit.

They say Greene was ejected and died on scene.

Police say the truck Greene was driving crashed into another vehicle.

That driver was not injured.
