Harrisburg mayor’s race gets ‘trashy’ as candidates spar over delinquent garbage bills

The first big battle in the race for Mayor of Harrisburg is over trash bills. Mayor Wanda Williams announced a $2 million forgiveness program targeting 541 residents with $1,000s in delinquent trash payments. But Treasurer Dan Miller, who is running to replace her in the Nov. 4 general election, says it rewards non-payment and punishes property owners who are responsible.
