PALESTINE, Texas — A traffic stop in Palestine lead to the seizure of drugs and weapons.
According to Palestine Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle just after 2 p.m. on Aug. 18. The driver, Llewellyn Lynn, 47, of Palestine, reportedly failed to stop, pulling into the driveway of his residence in the 200 block of Saltworks Rd. Police said Lynn exited the vehicle and was uncooperative with officers. He was taken into custody a short time later.
Officers reported finding over five pounds of marijuana and two guns inside the vehicle. His residence was less than 1,000 feet away from Westwood Elementary School, a designated Drug-Free Zone.
