TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - College campuses are buzzing again in Tallahassee.
On Monday, Florida State University and Florida A&M University welcomed back tens of thousands of students as they kicked off the new academic year.
FAMU welcomed more than 2,000 new Rattlers — including first-year, transfer, graduate and online students.
FSU received more than 86,000 applications for a first-year class of about 6,200 — that’s an increase of nearly 182% increase in first-year applications over the past 10 years.

The new class includes students from all 50 states, all 67 Florida counties and 50 countries.
