The death of a Maine man whose body was left in a car outside a Massachusetts hospital Saturday afternoon is being treated by authorities as a suspicious incident, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said.

Portland resident Declan Perry, 27, was found outside South Shore Hospital in Weymouth in a black Honda Civic with a Maine license plate, the district attorney’s office said in a press release Monday . His body was discovered in the back seat of the car wrapped in blankets that were secured with duct tape after a hospital unit coordinator noticed the car parked in front of the emergency room entrance.

Hospital staff reported Perry’s body to Weymouth police shortly after 2:05 p.m. on Aug. 23, the district attorney’s office said. He was declared dead less than 10 minutes lat
