MAINE, USA — As the summer winds down, so does one of the most dangerous stretches of the year for teen drivers—the 100 Deadliest Days . But before it ends, drivers will face one more busy travel weekend: Labor Day.

While the holiday weekend affects drivers of all ages, AAA is especially encouraging extra caution behind the wheel. According to Tom Baran, a spokesperson for AAA Northern New England, avoiding peak traffic hours can make a significant difference.

"If you can get a good start on driving before noon, that's your best bet before traffic starts to pick up," Baron said.

He adds that traffic is simply part of the experience this time of year. Whether you're headed to a family barbecue or just picking up groceries, expect delays.
