Jackson Merrill isn’t due off the injured list until this weekend in Minnesota.

Until then, the Padres can start both Ryan O’Hearn and Gavin Sheets without leaving a starting-caliber player on the bench.

Both are in the lineup for a seventh straight game on Monday in Seattle for a 6:40 p.m. first pitch.

The Padres are 6-1 overall when they start both Sheets and O’Hearn, with Sunday’s 8-2 loss to the Dodgers snapping a five-game winning streak.

O’Hearn is hitting .255/.364/.455 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 20 games since the trade deadline and hitting .346/.414/.615 in eight games since sitting in back-to-back games against Dodgers left-handers Clayton Kershaw and Blake Snell .
