FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KY3) - The University of Arkansas Police Department confirmed no evidence of gunshots or injuries involving an active shooting alert on Monday. However, investigators say the investigation is ongoing.

The University of Arkansas issued an alert to students regarding a potential active shooter situation at 12:27 p.m.

The message told students to avoid the area around the Mullins Library. The library sits across from the Arkansas Union in the heart of campus.

Cpl. Natalie Eucce with the Fayetteville Police Department said officers responded to multiple calls at multiple locations on campus about a possible active shooter. They found nothing suspicious. Police say they have not arrested anyone in connection with the incident.
