MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – Water at Rose State College has tested positive for Legionella, which is the bacteria that can cause Legionnaires' disease.

News 4 reported earlier this month that a man at a senior living facility died from that disease.

Rose State College is located less than a mile away from Autumn House, so the staff wanted to be proactive and test the water on campus.

The results showed elevated levels of Legionella bacteria inside some buildings, which prompted immediate action.

"Over the weekend, we flushed all of the campus lines, including draining all water tanks, both inside all of our buildings and externally, and we also worked with the city of Midwest City to flush the fire hydrants," said Cordell Jordan, vice president for marketing and communications, Rose S
