VERMILLION, S.D. (KCAU) — The estimated completion of the Clay County jail, scheduled for 2024, is nearing, with the facility set to move in sometime in October. KCAU 9 was given access to the $30 million building.
"It's twice the size and then some," said Clay County Sheriff Andy Howe, referring to the county's old jail. "(We're) replacing a jail built in 1912, in Vermillion. So, it's going to be a bit different for us."
