The local Catholic diocese wants a jury to decide the outcome of a lawsuit claiming Bishop Luers High School officials failed to act on reported sexual exploitation, according to court documents obtained Monday.
The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend and the other defendants – Bishop Luers and four school administrators – also denied many of the allegations contained in the 49-page lawsuit filed in May.
The case stems from allegations about systemic failure to protect female Bishop Luers students from sexual exploitation involving pornographic videos created by male students. The boys allegedly superimposed their female classmates’ names on the explicit content, portraying them as participants in sexual acts.
