Tommy Fleetwood finally broke through and captured his first victory on the PGA Tour in style Sunday, winning the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup that came along with it.

Unfortunately for the Englishman, his wife of eight years, Clare, wasn’t there by his side to celebrate his $10-million US breakthrough. She was at home in the United Arab Emirates, watching her husband’s moment of glory on TV.

While Clare was noticeably absent from the festivities, she previously had revealed that making public appearances with her husband made her feel paranoid for one reason in particular: Their age gap.

Clare, 57, is 23 years older than the golf star, who turned 34 earlier this year. She opened up about her feelings on the issue during an appearance on the podcast in 2023.
