Eight American flags placed in honor of a fallen local Marine were ripped from a Cape Cod bridge days after the man's father had put them up, police said.

It's the second time in two months that flags have been ripped from the Lance Corporal William Joseph Donovan Jr. Memorial Bridge, Yarmouth police said, as they asked for help finding whoever tore the flags down.

"This is wrong. This is disgraceful. And we must hold whoever is doing this accountable," state Rep. Steve Xiarhos said in a post on social media.
