The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 4:29 p.m. on Monday for strong thunderstorms until 5 p.m. for Central and Eastern Lake County.

Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches) are expected.

"At 4:28 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 7 miles east of Warner Wetlands, or 38 miles northeast of Lakeview, moving north at 5 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Heavy rain is possible over the Hart Mountain wildfire burn scar, which may result in localized debris flows."
