OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — An attorney for 45-year-old Demetrize Carter has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Del City, the Del City police chief, two Del City police officers, and the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District.
The lawsuit comes two years after a deadly shooting at a high school football game that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Cordea Carter.
In the chaos of the gunfire, Demetrize Carter, who is not related to the victim, was also shot and injured by an off-duty Del City police officer responding to the situation.
Billy Clark, an attorney for Carter, says their fight for justice is just beginning.
"We are alleging that Del City police officer Sean Hogue and his partner violated the civil rights of Demetrize by shooting him with no provocation, with, with no reaso
