MACON, Ga. — A man was hospitalized after a house fire in Macon , according to a report from the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department.

The fire department says the fire happened around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, starting at a house on the 3000 block of Pio Nono Avenue.

One person was taken to the hospital via ambulance, according to the fire department. Their status, and any identifying details, are unknown at this time.

A 13WMAZ reporter at the scene observed extensive damage to a window on the side of the house, though the roof appeared to be intact. There were several police vehicles and fire trucks on the scene.

The fire department said they believe the man was the only person in the house at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
