A Dearborn man suspected of intentionally ramming his SUV into a pedestrian who was crossing a street was arraigned Monday on felony charges.

Murtadha Jabbar Alizairij, 38, faces charges of assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault and motor vehicle advisory, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said in a press release.

According to police, his bond was set at $750,000 by 19th District Court Judge Gene Hunt.

Dearborn police said officers responding to the area of Michigan Avenue and Howe Street around 10:45 p.m. Saturday found an unresponsive man on the sidewalk. The victim, a 40-year-old Dearborn resident, was transported to a local hospital, where he remained in critical but stable condition as of Monday, police said
