MOUNT VERNON — The Marion Wildcats won the team recognition Monday, while Carbondale freshman Giorgia Thoms captured the top individual score at the South Seven Conference girls golf preview.

The Wildcats put together a team score of 183 or 16 strokes ahead of second-place Centralia (199). Carbondale was third at 202 and Mount Vernon rounded out the field of four with a 211.
