ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The National Police Accountability Project filed a request under the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, to take a long look at the Atlanta Police Department.
The group said it’s a call to action for city leaders to hold officers accountable and do their best to prevent tragedies.
The request comes in the wake of former officer Muhammad Muhammad being arrested on a rape charge. He joins the list of other officers with previous misconduct allegations.

“We also want our constituents and community to be able to trust the individuals that are employed to serve us,” said Eshé Collins, Atlanta City Council Post 3 at Large.
