HENRY COUNTY, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man and a woman were found dead early Monday morning after authorities surrounded a home in a Henry County neighborhood for hours, according to police.

The investigation took place at a home on Ruby Lane in McDonough, inside the Brightwood on the Lake subdivision, when police were responding to a person being shot around 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found a woman dead. As the investigation continued, police say “a person of interest was identified and tracked to another residence” across the street.

The home was surrounded by officers and the Henry County SWAT Team, as police vehicles blocked the entrance to the neighborhood.

Some homes were evacuated while other families were told to stay inside and hide.
