CHANDLER, Texas — Henderson County deputies are investigating a shooting.

Sheriff Botie Hillhouse told CBS19 the incident occurred on the Dogwood Trail in the Westwood Beach subdivision, on CR 3105 south of Chandler. He confirmed that one man was shot sometime around 9 p.m. and is now dead.

People at the scene attempted to perform life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.

Chuck Brady Norris, 18, is considered a person of interest and reportedly left the scene shortly after the incident in a silver Chevrolet Impala. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Deputies are at the scene and are investigating. Hillhouse indicated the incident began as an altercation between the suspect and victim, and that they knew each other prior to the incident.
