KERR COUNTY, Texas — Kerr County has unanimously voted to create a team to install flood sirens around the Guadalupe River.
The leader of the Flood Warning System (FWS) Project Team will be former Commissioner Tom Moser, who is also a former NASA engineer.
Moser says when he was a commissioner, he tried to spearhead the creation of a siren system during his tenure.
"What we and the county have, our system is quite simply pretty antiquated, it's pretty -- help me here, Sheriff -- It's marginal at the best. It's okay. It serves some purposes, but it's not what we should have," Moser said in 2016.
The five-person team will include one person from Kerr County, the City of Kerrville, the City of Ingram and the Upper Guadalupe River Authority.
