Geddes, N.Y. — About 56,000 people enjoyed the sixth day of the New York State Fair , officials said.

A total of 55,972 people entered the fairgrounds on Monday, according to fair spokesperson Katie Rey.

Tuesday is the fair’s Fire, Rescue and EMS Day. A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. in front of the Horticulture Building.

The late Van Robinson , a longtime Syracuse politician and community leader, will be honored Tuesday. A ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. at the Pan-African Village, which is named for him.

The day’s musical lineup includes Herman’s Hermits at 1 p.m., Sister Hazel at 6 p.m. and Lil Jon at 8 p.m.

The State Fair runs through Labor Day, Sept. 1.
