The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Monday that, with Lehi City’s approval, preliminary work on utility infrastructure to support the Lehi Utah Temple is underway.
This work — announced ahead of a date for an official groundbreaking ceremony — includes installing underground water, sewer and electricity to the city’s existing utilities, as well as creating a level base for the temple’s construction, according to a Monday release on ChurchofJesusChrist.org .
“We are excited for this first step in the process of building a house of the Lord in Lehi,” Elder Brian K. Taylor, president of the church’s Utah Area, said in the release.
“This sacred edifice will be a blessing for Latter-day Saints in the area. We are grateful to the city of Lehi for their ongoing support
