Before you reach for the delicious ice cream you're hiding from your kids, check that it wasn't recalled.
One type of Blue Bell ice cream has been voluntarily recalled in more than a dozen states, including Kentucky. The Texas-based company announced it could be dangerous for those allergic to almonds, walnuts and pecans.
Why was Blue Bell Ice Cream recalled?
Because the ice cream is labeled incorrectly, it may have ingredients consumers aren't expecting.
According to a release from the Food and Drug Administration, which posted the company's announcement as a public service on Friday, Aug. 22, a Blue Bell Creameries employee discovered incorrect packaging labels on some of the product "while restocking a retailer."
