HAYS COUNTY, Texas — Eastern Hays County residents are under a boil water notice following a water main break in the Plum Creek Water System, Texas Water Utilities officials said Monday.

The break has caused a service outage affecting several neighborhoods, including Rolling Hills, Windy Hills, Green Pastures, Branch View, Park South and Dove Hills.

Health officials advise residents to boil water for at least two minutes and allow it to cool before drinking to kill any potentially harmful bacteria.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until further notice, officials said.
