Ann Arbor – Bryce Underwood doesn’t hide from the hype, that’s for sure. As the most-celebrated recruit in Michigan football history, it follows him everywhere, and he’s obliged to fuel it.

In a soft-spoken tone, Underwood has talked about goals of winning Heisman Trophies and a national championship, of becoming an NFL Hall of Famer, of breaking molds and blowing up timetables. Heady stuff from a freshman about to take his first snap in front of 110,000 fans.

“They’ve seen a lot of freshmen, but I feel like nobody’s seen a freshman like me,” Underwood told the Big Ten Network, in town recently as part of its preseason tour. The Big Ten crew of Jake Butt, Howard Griffith and Dave Revsine didn’t confirm it, but didn’t try to dispute it.
