ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Lisa Taylor said she and Demond Taylor were as close to family as two people could get.

“He was one of those people you didn’t have a chance to be sad or weary around,” she said. “He was the life of the party, very comical.”

Lisa Taylor’s husband, Romero, and Demond were cousins who she said were raised like brothers.

Lisa and Romero Taylor’s world changed on the night of June 20, 2008. That is when St. Louis Metropolitan Police said Demond Taylor was found shot to death on the 5100 block of Page Boulevard near Academy Avenue.

Demond Taylor left behind two boys and was working as a campus police officer at St. Louis Community College’s Florissant Valley campus. He was off-duty at the time of the shooting.
