Two months before the deadline for the WNBA and the Women's National Basketball Players Association to reach a deal on a new collective bargaining agreements, the sides remain far apart, Sportico and Front Office Sports reported on Monday.
WNBPA officials met Monday to discuss the status of talks ahead of the Oct. 31 deadline, per Sportico.
Chicago Sky forward Elizabeth Williams, the union's executive committee secretary, told Sportico, "Initially the end of October was ideal, but that's probably not going to happen. That's where we wanted to be, but I don't think we'll be ready. ... I'm staying cautiously optimistic."
