SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A hiker was airlifted Monday to a hospital after a fall onto rocks near Flat Rock at Black's Beach.

Around 7:30 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to reports of a hiker who had possibly suffered a hip fracture from the fall, the department said in a Facebook post at 7:46 p.m.

When first responders arrived, the victim was treated on scene and a medical helicopter took them to a hospital for further care, according to authorities.

SDFD advises the public to be aware and extra cautious of coastal rocks as they can be slippery and dangerous.
