SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The mother of Rosie Tapia, a girl who was found dead in a Salt Lake City canal 30 years ago, is hoping for closure now that Salt Lake City Police are seeking information based on a new lead in her case.

It's been just over 30 years since 6-year-old Rosie Tapia was kidnapped and murdered. Now, Salt Lake City Police are asking for help identifying two teenage boys who may have more information on the case.

Rosie's mother, Lewine Tapia, said that she is hoping for closure. "It would take a big burden off me knowing we finally got the person that did it, and we're going to make them pay for it," she told ABC4.com.

Detective Michael Ruff with the Salt Lake City Police said that their main priority is to get this case solved so that they can provide closure to Rosie's
