BALTIMORE — Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman hasn’t allowed a hit since the day the New England Patriots held their first official training camp practice July 23.

NFL teams finished camp Monday before needing to cut down their rosters to 53 players Tuesday.

That’s just one way of putting the 37-year-old’s dominance into perspective. His hitless streak spans the entire Patriots’ training camp period.

Chapman pitched a perfect ninth inning in the Red Sox’ 4-3 comeback victory over the Orioles on Monday.

“Obviously Chappy’s doing Chappy things,” said Garrett Whitlock who tossed a scoreless eighth inning.

Chapman has not allowed a hit to his last 38 batters faced, dating back to July 23 at Philadelphia when J.T. Realmuto homered against him.
