Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday has joined a coalition which calls for technology companies to provide stronger protections for children who are using their platforms and being exposed to artificial intelligence chatbots.

The bipartisan coalition, made up of 44 attorney generals, has sent a letter to Apple, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Open AI, Replika, and other companies, warning that harm caused to children and others by chatbot interactions will need to be answered for.

The letter alleges that artificial intelligence companies are aware they may be exposing children to sexualized content and are choosing not to enact protections.

It also asks that artificial intelligence companies “exercise judgment” when reviewing policies.
