CLEVELAND, Ohio – In a way, Kate Sidley’s book, “How to Be a Saint,” was born when she was a student years ago at Baldwin Wallace University.

A theater major, she read about Saint Hildegard of Bingen , who lived in the 12th century and who Sidley considers her favorite saint. A nun, Saint Hildegard also was an artist, author, composer, mystic, pharmacist and poet.

“We read one of her plays, then I discovered she was also a saint,” said Sidley, a writer for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” “I just think she led a really interesting life, and I admire the amount of work that she did at a time when a woman doing anything public facing or writing anything was extremely uncommon.”
