CLEVELAND, Ohio -- For someone who made his name playing a dangerously irresistible vampire on television, James Marsters is quite modest. The actor, best known as Spike on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and its spinoff “Angel,” says fan gatherings like the horror-themed Nightmare Weekend, Aug. 29-31 at the Huntington Convention Center , are more about community than celebrities.
“I’m the bait at a convention — I’m the person to help people decide to come,“ he said. ”The magic of a convention is that there are tens of thousands of people all hanging out in a huge room or series of rooms, and they’re all talking to each other."
