KNOXVILLE – Montgomery is headed back home and the Knoxville Smokies probably would say it’s not a moment too soon.

The Biscuits won all three games against the Smokies over the weekend, 6-2, 5-4 and 3-1, to move their record to 65-55 and drop Knoxville to 56-62. Montgomery won five of the six games they played against the Smokies in the series.

In Friday’s game, the Biscuits slowly built a lead through the middle innings and eventually won 6-2. Homer Bush Jr. had a pair of RBIs and Brock Jones sent his seventh shot of the year out of the park. Ethan Hearn had a homer for the Smokies and Reivaj Garcia added a single that produced a run. Ty Johnson (6-5) was the winner for Montgomery as he had seven strikeouts in five innings and Tyler Schlaffer suffered only his second setback of the sea
