If you're heading to Porcupines Mountains Wilderness State Park to camp over Labor Day weekend, you may need to reconsider your route around the wilderness park.

The Ontonogan County Road Commission has closed South Boundary Road until Aug. 29 for resurfacing. The road also will close in a different location after the holiday weekend for additional work.

"If traveling to the Porkies , Monday, August 25th through Friday, September 12th, please make note of the below road closure schedule and locations," the park announced in a Facebook post. "Plan accordingly, you may need to take the highway system to get to your park destination, adding additional mileage." More: H-58 east of Grand Marais is closed for bridge work.
